Dell makes ultrabook for January 2012

According to industry sources DigiTimes, HP and Dell will launch its first ultrabooks sometime after rival systems vendors such as Acer, Asus, Toshiba and Lenovo. The first reports, plans to increase production ultrabook later this year through the Taiwanese computer manufacturer Quanta, while the latter company has contracted Wistron to produce a 14-inch machine to display during Consumer Electronics Show 2012 in January.

The sources also revealed that Wistron is making 13.3-inch Acer Aspire S3, Compal Electronics is working on 15-inch Aspire S3 and Lenovo IdeaPad U300s while Pegatron Technology is whipping Asus UX21 11.6 inch and 13 inch -UX31. We have not seen too strict release dates, but most expected devices imminent - certainly before next year on the basis of existing information.

Because HP and Dell are going to lag behind its immediate competition, some people believe that the companies intend to submit their initial offers the next generation Intel processing architecture of 22 nm, Ivy Bridge. Although not impossible, seems unlikely. Roadmaps filtered and independent sources have repeatedly suggested that Ivy Bridge will be out in March or April 2012, Intel instead of the usual presentation of January launch.

In other somewhat related news, VR-Zone reports that some ultrabooks Ivy Bridge will have very high resolution displays. Although most of its rivals the next MacBook Air will lead to a typical 1366x768 screen, some put in a 2560x1440 pixel 13.3-inch panel - even for a premium. This pixel density is likely to push north price ultrabook Intel recommends the $ 1,000 mark, and the battery life would be a blow too.
